Chris Sanders reported the frustration in an interview with the New York Times
The co-director of Lilo & Stitch (2002), Chris Sanders, revealed that he was irritated by the praise the film received. Frozen received upon its release in 2013. The director vented on his frustration with comments on Frozen give priority to the relationship of two sisters.
“To be clear, I think Frozen excellent. But it was a little frustrating for me because people were saying, “Finally, a non-romantic relationship with these two girls” and I thought, “We did it! This was absolutely done before,” she said. The New York Times.
