In the latest court trial of Acadêmicos da Grande Rio, the actress Paolla Oliveira gave a show of diverse talents, with lots of samba and improvisations on the drums. Paolla, the drum queen of Greater Rio, parades with the group in Sapucaí on February 11, for the Special Group of Samba Schools of the Rio de Janeiro Carnival.

With a pearl openwork dress and high heels, Paolla Oliveira was one of the highlights of the club’s rehearsals this Tuesday 30. In an exclusive interview with Terra, the queen was full of suspense about her costume, she promised a different jaguar and admitted “pitfalls” with haters.

“[Os haters] They have already made me lose energy and good mood; getting angry, losing the desire to be in certain places, undermining my self-confidence. But not anymore”, underlines the actress, who has been in public life for 20 years. “It’s not that she protected me from this, but I have gained confidence over time”, she added.

“If I’m not still, I don’t know who I am, I’m just meeting other people’s expectations, and I think I need to meet my own first.”

Under the theme “Our destiny is to be Onça” and coordinated by carnival artists Gabriel Haddad and Leandro Bora, Grande Rio seeks its second title in the Rio Carnival.

Paolla Oliveira has been the drum queen of the Duque de Caxias (RJ) group since 2020, when she replaced Juliana Paes. She also represented Grande Rio in 2009 and 2010 and was in front of the drums when the samba school won the Special Group title in 2022, with the samba storyline “Fala, Majeté!” Seven keys of Exu’.
