This is what the old woman from the Titanic looked like when she was young - an incredible beauty!

“When I graduated from high school, everyone said I was going to do well. But I had no idea how long I would have to wait,” admitted Gloria Stuart. The American actress woke up to fame at the age of 87 – with the premiere of the movie ‘Titanic’ in 1997.

Throughout her life, Gloria has played dozens of roles. Already in one of the first films she woke up famous: it was the horror film “The Old Scary House” in 1932.

The girl was predicted a bright future after the release of the hit film, but she herself was disappointed in the cinema: she was disgusted with both working conditions (for example, 15-hour shifts and irregular meals) and the same type of roles that she couldn’t stand.

“I hated everything I did. I didn’t want to play pretty girls – these roles were too primitive. In the theater I played the heroines of Chekhov and Shakespeare. I decided to leave the cinema, because the movie actresses were treated like trash,” Gloria recalls.

And she really moved on to the theater, then to the art of decoupage, to painting in the style of primitivism and, finally, to bonsai.

In the 90s, when few people already remembered Gloria Stewart as an actress, James Cameron approached her, who decided to make a film about the Titanic and was looking for an elderly woman to play Rose in her old age. . “I knew straight away the movie was going to be great. It was the role I had been waiting for my whole life,” Gloria said.

So, at the age of 87, Stewart not only became famous all over the world (for the second time in her life) and was the only one of the entire film crew who actually caught a shipwreck (Gloria had then 2 years), but was also nominated for an Oscar for his role in Titanic.

In a sense, Stewart repeated the fate of her heroine. She lived to be 100 years old.
