Parents don’t need it! Yuri Shatunov, Marilyn Monroe and other stars who were adopted

Not many people know that some celebrities, for various reasons, were raised in foster homes. And that did not prevent them from gaining notoriety!

Svetlana Surganova

The parents abandoned the baby in the maternity ward. She was brought home by a woman named Leah, who was going to the orphanage for a boy, but couldn’t resist the beautiful girl. Svetlana grew up and became a famous singer, leader of the Surganova and Orchestra group.

Yuri Shatunov

Shatunov’s childhood was not particularly joyful. When he was three years old, his parents divorced, then his mother remarried, but his stepfather treated the boy badly, and Yura often ran away from home. The mother had heart problems and enrolled Yura in a boarding school. After his death, the aunt’s family took care of the boy, but he didn’t like it either. As a result, he was assigned to his institution by the director of the orphanage, Valentina Tazekenova, who continued to be a part of his life until her death in 2015.

Roman Abramovich

The Russian billionaire also grew up in a foster family. When he was one year old, his mother died, then his father, and the child was taken in first by his grandfather, then by his uncle’s family.

Marilyn Monroe

The actress’s mother suffered from mental problems, so she gave the child up for adoption. Marilyn did not take root in the family of Albert and Ida Bolender – and she had to change several orphanages. This forced her to marry at 16 and finally gain her freedom.

Christine Davis

The Sex and the City actress was adopted by her stepfather when she was three years old after her parents divorced. Kristin loves her adoptive father as her own.

Nicole Rici

Nicole was born out of an affair with a little-known musician and fan. Nicole’s parents weren’t wealthy and gave their three-year-old daughter to be raised by famed musician Lionel Richie and his wife, who couldn’t have a child of their own.

Jamie Fox

At the age of one year, the actor was adopted by his own grandmother: she had already adopted her mother, so it was not the first time for her.

John Lennon

The musician was brought up by his own aunt: his parents divorced and she was richer than the two. Lennon said it was his aunt who taught him good music.

Steve Jobs

The father of a technical genius left his mother during pregnancy. She was alone, there wasn’t enough money, so adoption seemed like a good idea.

Eric Clapton

The British musician was raised by his grandparents. Until adulthood, he considered his own mother an older sister (she gave birth to a son at 16), and his father went to the front and then returned to his native Canada.

Frances McDormand

The actress was born in Chicago and then adopted in Pittsburgh by a Canadian couple whom she loved like her own parents.

Ingrid Bergman

The great actress suffered a lot in her childhood. Her mother died when she was three years old, her father died at 14, and six months later her aunt, who took her in to raise her. As a result, Ingrid was raised by her own uncle along with her children.

Jack Nicholson

Another actor raised by his grandmother as his mother was too young at the time. He learned of his true origin after the two died.

The mother gave the baby to her friends, Elias and Flora Disney, as she could not afford to support the child.

bill clinton

The father of the American president died prematurely and his mother gave him away to be raised by his parents. By the way, of all the presidents of the United States, only he and Gerald Ford were adopted.

Nelson Mandela

When the politician was nine years old, he was adopted by the chief of his native Tembu tribe (South Africa) – Jongintaba. Nelson’s father died of tuberculosis and it was decided not to deprive his heir of his seat on the tribal council.
