The actress Jamie Lee Curtis celebrated 25 years of sobriety in a social media post this Saturday 3. The artist has become known for her work in films Everything everywhere at the same time AND Really crazy Friday.

“What is inside me, as my old friend Adam sang, is a sense of calm, serenity, purpose and the greatest feeling that I am not alone. That many others share the same disease and the same solution. For all those who struggle with addiction and shame, there are others here who care. My hand in yours. Our hands in yours,” he added.



The actress has spoken publicly at length about her struggle with opioid addiction. According to her, the addiction began after routine plastic surgery to remove swelling from her eyes.

“They gave me Vicodin as a painkiller for something that wasn’t really painful,” he said in an interview with Variety magazine in 2019.
