American court overturns sexual abuse case against Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler

The singer was accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl twice in 1975; The victim’s defense did not comment

This Wednesday, the 21st, a judge in the United States rejected an accused case Steve Tylersinger of Aerosmithof sexually assaulting a teenage girl in 1975. The accusations were made by model Jeanne Bellino.

Lewis Kaplan, a district judge in Manhattan, New York, said Jeanne took too long to sue the Aerosmith frontman. Tyler has always denied the allegations.

According to Kaplan, the model was not suitable to cover the two-year period necessary to pursue the case which would otherwise have exceeded the statute of limitations. The judge also stressed that the alleged victim did not allege that the singer’s conduct posed a “serious risk of physical harm.”

The person responsible for quashing the case also said the woman demonstrated a “lack of diligence”, as if she had reported the case earlier, she could fall under the Child Victims Act and the Adult Survivors Act.

David Long-Daniels, Steven Tyler’s attorney, celebrated the judge’s decision. In a statement sent to the American press, he said: “We agree with the judge’s reasoning and are grateful for this outcome on behalf of our client.

So far Jeanne Bellino’s defense has not commented.

At the time of the case, the model was 17 years old and went to a fashion show in Manhattan, where she met Aerosmith. In her version, she and the singer, who was 27, were walking down the street when he forced her into a phone booth where Tyler groped her, simulated sex and stuck his tongue down her throat while others laughed at the situation .

In the complaint, Jeanne also alleged that, during a party at the Warwick Hotel, Tyler assaulted her for the second time. The singer had already been accused of sexual assault in 1973.
