The famous singer dies at the age of 41 after battling cancer

Singer Messias Soares died last Saturday, 03/16, after battling bowel cancer. The samba singer, who lived in São Gonçalo, Rio, was being treated for the disease, which had already metastasized to his liver, but died due to its advanced stage.

Messias was diagnosed with cancer in April last year and has been undergoing treatment ever since. During this time the family even collected a donation to help defray expenses. This is because the process, started in the SUS (Unified Health System), required new interventions, as there had been no improvement.

According to newspaper information São Gonçalo, Messias’ wake and burial took place this Sunday, March 17, at the Parque da Paz cemetery, in the city where he lived in Rio.

It is worth mentioning that Messias was well known in music, especially among samba musicians and pagodeiros. After his death was confirmed, several celebrities paid tribute. “My God! Bad news. Condolences to the whole family and gratitude to all those who in some way tried to contribute to the warrior’s recovery”, said the singer Rust. “Our condolences go out to the family of this dear friend. Rest in peace, brother!” commented the Claréou Group.
