Foreign actor blocks arrivals at SP airport and comes face to face with fans

The soap opera idol, the Turkish Can Yaman, attracts women eager to see him up close

A Hollywood star? An idol of European cinema? A K-pop star? No. The commotion seen at Sao Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos, on Saturday morning (30), was caused by a Turkish soap opera heartthrob.

“Can, where are you? I came here just to see you”, sang in chorus the dozens of women waiting for Can Yaman, 34 years old, 1.88 m tall and with long hair (from a distance he resembles ‘Aquaman’ Jason Momoa).

Presenting himself at the exit of the arrivals area, the actor expressed surprise at the welcome. He greeted and shook hands with some admirers. There were at least 200 fans in the hall. “You can, you can, you can, you can!”

Surrounded by security guards (shorter than him), the actor was sparing with his smiles and words, yet he was more approachable than most Brazilian artists in the same situation.

He posed for selfies, signed autographs and wore a Brazilian scarf around his neck. About 15 people tried to protect him from the most excited fans, willing to touch him.

Storylines starring Can Yaman are available on Globoplay, including “Senhor Errado”, a hit in several countries. The actor came to Brazil to attend an event with tickets sold and to visit a social project.
