Humberto Martins says he has already asked to leave Globo soap operas due to ‘mess’ behind the scenes

The actor Humberto Martins, 62, has revealed behind-the-scenes details of some TV Globo soap operas. Currently residing in the United States, the artist claimed that the “disorder” and “incompetence” on the part of the production team was so great that he even asked to abandon the network’s works because he was not satisfied.

“There were soap operas that I actually asked to leave, of so much disorder, so much degradation and incompetence in the production part, you know? With the hours and privileges afforded to others. From situations I’ve never put myself in. This started to bother me. I saw that things haven’t changed,” Humberto said.

The comment was made during his participation in the Aloha Podcast by the surfer Rico de Souza, which aired last Tuesday, the 9th. In it the actor commented that he did not hide his discontent.

“I would go to the board and say ‘I’m not happy, I’m not satisfied, this is too messy for my taste, I don’t like working with people like that. I’m serious, I like organization, everything is fine,” recalls the actor.

Humberto also highlighted the lack of professionalism of his colleagues in the productions. “There are many people who can’t write and are rude, memorizing the text in front of my face. Still using me as a coach, as a person to decorate, he doesn’t come ready and takes hours. They arrive two, three hours late or not at all,” he said.

“There were situations like that and no one intervened in the heart of the soap opera. Then I had to go to the council and speak. I was uncomfortable and asked to be removed because it hurt me,” he said.

The actor has already asked to leave two soap operas. The first in 2003 with Kubanacan, where, according to rumors, there were disagreements behind the scenes.

The second, in 2019, was removed from the telenovela ‘Verão 90’ due to illness. At the time, Humberto confirmed the situation in an interview with the newspaper Extra.

Humberto’s last soap opera on the network was Travessia, by Glória Perez, which aired between 2022 and 2023.
