Silvia Poppovic suffers a violent attack in Sao Paulo: ‘Bloody and heartbroken’

At the weekend the journalist Silvia Poppovic shared happy moments with followers. The presenter, 69 years old, showed the clothes and accessories chosen for the birthday of a dear friend, as well as some moments from the party. Immediately afterwards, she was scared of him: the photo of her hand full of blood. In the report, Silvia explains that she was robbed in Higienópolis, an exclusive neighborhood of São Paulo.

The presenter stopped to tell her followers what happened. It all happened last Sunday, the 14th, after a friend’s birthday lunch Ary Perez. She was turning the corner from her house when, suddenly, she was “locked” by the robber. Silvia says that at the same moment she was thrown to the ground.

In an attempt to steal a ring, the thief injured the journalist’s hand until it bled. “They almost ripped my hands off! Luckily he didn’t have time to take off my bracelets and steal my cell phone! I started screaming from the floor and he ran away,” she recalled the tense moment.

In the report she also asks for an end to the violence: “I was so bloodied and heartbroken by all this violence that surrounds us! I can’t do it anymore!”, she wrote to her over 800,000 followers on Instagram.

The journalist’s outburst comes after suffering the second robbery in Higienópolis. Six months ago Silvia was also robbed in the neighborhood, but she was not seriously injured. At the time of the incident, she was in a taxi talking on her cell phone when the thief took the device from her hand.

As a journalist, Silvia Poppovic has worked for Record, TV Cultura, Band, SBT and Rede Globo. At the ‘plim-‘plim’ station she worked as a reporter for one of the main network newspapers, the Newspaper Today.
