The former “Big Brother” suffers an attack and the champion of “The Voice” undergoes surgery after being hit by a bullet

Portugal’s Nelson Fernandes and France’s Kendji Girac add to the headlines of violence in European TV news

Eliminated for the first time from the current edition of Big Brother in Portugal, Nelson Fernandes was attacked while leaving a gym. “I was at the door and a boy came with a stick,” he said. “He tried to hit me in the head.”

The 34-year-old bodybuilding athlete managed to protect his face with his arm. The shot hit his hand and his cell phone. After escaping from the attacker, he went to Póvoa do Varzim hospital, where his injured and bloody fingers were cleaned and stitched.

The day before, in the French countryside, singer Kendji Girac had been shot in the chest with a 9mm pistol. He was immediately rescued, underwent surgery and is no longer at risk of dying. When he was just 16 years old, he won ‘The Voice’ in his hometown. Today he is 27 years old and is part of the coaching team of ‘The Voice Kids’.

Among the hypotheses raised by the police investigation into the attack are passionate motivation, the action of an obsessed fan and revenge for an unknown reason. If he recovers in time, Kendji Girac will perform in Cannes during the city’s elegant Film Festival on May 19.
