The Copacabana stage forces Madonna to change two moments of the show

A column source spoke to Madonna dancers in the corridors of the Copacabana Palace. The team rehearses for 6 to 8 hours a day in one of the hotel’s party rooms.

The effort involves changes to Saturday’s show (4) compared to the previous 80 performances of the ‘Celebration Tour’.

In addition to the fact that the stage is almost double the size, approximately 820 m², there will be no aerial part of the original show. Madonna sang “Live to Tell” and “Ray of Light” suspended in an empty box, 5 meters above the ground, moving from side to side.

The structure assembled on the sands of Copacabana does not allow this effect created for arenas with a closed roof. Therefore, there was a change in the choreography of these parts of the show.

An expert dancer, Madonna is obsessed with rehearsals. She arrived in Rio so early just to try out the changes so that everything would be perfect for what would become the biggest audiences of her career.
