Silvero Pereira shocks by revealing details of the abuse he suffered as a child

Silvero Pereira is the star of ‘Little monster’a monologue that he premiered last weekend, at the Poeira Theater, in Botafogo, in the southern area of ​​Rio de Janeiro, where it is performed from Thursday to Sunday, until July 28th.

The 41-year-old actor shocked audiences in his comedy by revealing he was abused as a child.

“It will be strange, to say the least. But you know who you came to see,” he began, speaking to the audience. “As an artist that I am, I take advantage of this situation. I understand that today many people will look at me because they want to see the TV actor. That’s fine, but then they also clash with the things I want to say.”

Silvero said he was raped by a man in the woods when he was 7 years old.

“Before I exposed myself to the world, I gradually opened up to myself about this topic. That’s when I looked in the mirror and had the courage to embrace who I really was,” States.

“Theatre has always been my great therapy. It’s the place where I can eliminate these things. But, when I bring it to the stage, these problems must be solved. This is not a militant piece or a manifesto. What I want is to do art So, first I resolve my traumas. Then, I think about how to technically construct a drama to deal with this problem… I was preparing to have the courage to speak now, with my questions, I may not be able to speak”, pointed.

“No one will see me open a diary […] My main goal is to say: we are all involved in this violence. We have to address this problem.
