Rafael Cardoso revealed he is estranged from his children, Aurora and Valentim, ages 7 and 4, due to his 15-year relationship with Mari Bridi. The couple announced their separation in December 2022. “It’s hard to take a break like that when it comes to raising kids. I haven’t seen them in person in a year. All of this is confusing my head. I’m not here to victimize myself, I’m not a victim and I don’t want to be. it’s annoying,” he told the program Disconnect Rio, from TV Caras. She had another daughter, Helena, with psychologist Carol Ferraz.

Rafael said the “life change” due to the separation was very difficult. According to the actor, he has always actively participated in his children’s lives, “he was not an Instagram father”, and that the end of the relationship with his ex-wife has weakened everything.

“I had to accept it, discover that I am here today, calm, talking to you, in a good way, at peace with myself. I had to go through this process of accepting my compulsions and weaknesses. I committed excesses. I regret many things. I have been in a fight due to excess alcohol, drugs, medications, etc. Today I am calm because I assumed this position, not of guilt, because I don’t believe in guilt, but of responsibility for my actions.”
