Textor’s club pays R$85 million for the Barcelona defender

Chadi Riad was on loan at Betis, where he played 30 games last season. He is Crystal Palace’s new reinforcement

John Textor’s club, Crystal Palace, announced this Friday (14th), the purchase of defender Chadi Riad, who played for Barcelona. The young player, 20 years old, cost 15 million euros (around R$85 million). He has signed a contract until 2029.

Moroccan Riyadh has only played one match against Barcelona. Without space, he played last season for Betis. In the Sevilla club he played 30 games, 28 as a starter, but remained empty in both goals and assists.

With the Moroccan national team, Riad played three matches last season, including two friendlies and one in World Cup qualifying. He scored a goal defending the colors of his country.

Crystal Palace belongs to John Textor, owner of SAF do Botafogo. The entrepreneur, however, wants to sell his share in the club, which amounts to 45%. He is looking for an investor to buy his share. Furthermore, the idea is to acquire Everton, again from England.
