Juan Paiva explains why he lives in a community even after his fame

The 26-year-old stole the show by revealing that, despite his fame, he still lives in Vidigal, a community in Rio de Janeiro: “(…) I live in Vidigal for them, for my family and my friends. It’s the place where I feel good“, he explained.

He also said another reason he lives in the community is because of his daughter: “I want to bring this experience of human contact, of human warmth, to my daughter, so that she can understand how life works”He said.

The actor then underlined that the place still suffers from many prejudices: “The favela… there are many colours. Happiness. Like every place, this one also has its downside. It has become a stereotyped place, but people need to experience the favela, and the favela needs to receive more attention from the system, so that it can catch up“he stressed.
