Ed Motta admits mistake after controversial speech on hip hop: ‘I ask for forgiveness’

Singer Ed Motta posted an apology on his social media to hip-hop listeners after criticizing the musical style. This Tuesday, 18/06, the jazz singer published a video asking for forgiveness and stating that he had “made a big mistake” by calling part of the audience “stupid”.

“Hello hip hop people. I came here to apologize, to forgive you, for my rude and disrespectful behavior towards the movement. I was at a live, and my live, you know, it’s chaotic, I say bad things about a lot of things. But it doesn’t justify it. It was bad, I made my friends sad, the friends who are part of the movement and many people angry with me, so I apologize. He said.

It is worth mentioning that, during a live broadcast last week, the artist stated that he is black, but “but I represent the most sophisticated aspects of the race”. And he also said: “Anyone who listens to hip hop is stupid. Anyone, anyone. No exceptions.”
