That the 71-year-old star is annoyed because she thinks she was copied from Anitta

Participation as a technician in the musical reality show ‘La Voz… Mexico’, the local version of ‘The Voice’, made Anitta popular among Mexicans, but not everyone there sympathizes with the Brazilian singer.

His biggest critic is called Lyn May. She was a famous star and worked as an actress, like her in the soap opera “I Don’t Believe in Men”, on Televisa, broadcast on SBT in the early 1980s.

When asked about Anitta’s success, the artist did not hide the rivalry. “You copied me because I started first,” he told him. Lyn believes the Brazilian funk singer took inspiration from her style and reproduced the costumes. “Everyone copies me because they don’t know how to do anything.”

In an interview with a television program, the Mexican was more emphatic: “Anitta doesn’t get on my heels.” At 71, the dancer remains in the media appearing in films and music videos.

She has just launched herself as a reggaeton singer. She claims that her song “Envidiosa” (envious, in Spanish) will be more successful than Anitta’s hit “Envolver”. “I am the original, not a copy,” she joked in one post.

She recently showed off the effects of yet another plastic surgery procedure on her face. “The doctor said I look 30 now,” she said, sparking disbelief among some of the audience and generating memes across the Internet, including on Brazilian TikTok.

Lyn May likes to argue. In 2021, she announced to the press that she had become pregnant naturally, with twins. She was 68 years old. The children’s father would be a DJ three decades younger. The girl would be called Thalía, in honor of the singer and soap opera star.

Shortly after, the star announced that the pregnancy had been terminated due to the scare she experienced during an emergency landing. Known for her exaggerations, she is not taken very seriously by journalists in her country, but she enchants the public with her bizarre stories.
