Luciano Szafir said he uses medicinal cannabis to treat the consequences after hospitalizations for Covid-19.

On Wednesday the 26th, the 55-year-old actor and former model posted a video on his Instagram in which he says he has started reading a lot on the topic. Furthermore, he underwent consultations with doctors who recommended the use of the substance.

“For a few years, almost ten, I have been reading about research on cannabis and cannabidiol. I have always been curious. Today, as far as I know, there are more than 1800 cannabis products. It is also very controversial. People say that the cannabis is a drug, if you consider that medicine is a drug, it is a drug,” he said.

Szafir revealed he suffered after-effects after spending 145 days in hospital after contracting Covid-19.

“I had consequences, but the biggest one was… As soon as I left, I needed a psychologist, a psychiatrist, medicines, antidepressants, I stopped everything, but I couldn’t stop taking sleeping pills. There are two of them, anyway.”

The actor says he started treatment with medical cannabis about a month ago. He has since stopped using one black-labeled medicine and reduced the dose of the second medicine.

Also in his publication he warns of the importance of a medical recommendation before starting to use the substance.

Luciano Szafir was diagnosed with covid-19 three times between 2021 and 2022 and ended up in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Copa Star hospital, in Rio de Janeiro. Among the complications of the disease, the actor had a pulmonary embolism.
