Fernando Rocha Reveals Shingles Diagnosis, Warns About Vaccination

The host Fernando Rocha he used social media to share with his followers a difficult moment from a health point of view: the diagnosis of herpes zoster, a pathology caused by the varicella-zoster virus, also responsible for chickenpox.

In a video, Fernando explained the details of the disease, which can occur in people who have had chickenpox in the past and who are over 40. He emphasized that the varicella-zoster virus remains latent in the body and can be reactivated during periods of low immunity or emotional fluctuations.

“Herpes zoster is a disease I’ve been dealing with for about a week. It’s a pain like a sword stuck in the rib”described Fernando.

The speaker also stressed the importance of preventive vaccination against herpes zoster, available in the private network, but at a high cost of about R$ 800 for the two necessary doses.
