Dancer and cheerleader Jerry Harris, 22, was sentenced to 12 years in prison in the United States on Wednesday (7/6). He had been sued since 2020 for possession of child pornography material and for sexual harassment and abuse of minors.
Jerry Harris became famous for his participation in “Cheer,” a Netflix documentary series about the daily life of cheerleaders at the University of Navarro – he appeared in nine episodes of the attraction’s two seasons.
In February of this year, he admitted that he had exchanged erotic content with at least ten teenagers, between the ages of 13 and 17. He also admitted that he had sex with a 15-year-old boy and paid another 17-year-old boy to send him nudes.
According to prosecutors, the cheerleader tried to persuade another minor to give him oral sex in a public restroom during a sporting event and also asked for “naked” from a smaller room via the Snapchat app.
After pleading guilty, his lawyers said they wanted to “take responsibility for his actions” and publicly convey “his remorse for the damage done to the victims”, as well as “spend the rest of his life making amends for what did” .
