Climber Marcelo Motta Delvaux dies after suffering an accident on a 6,300-meter mountain in Peru

The mountaineer Marcelo Motta Delvaux He had been missing since June 30, after an accident on Nevado Coropuna, a 6,300-meter-high mountain in Peru.




The athlete’s body was found last Sunday (07/07), during searches carried out by the Arequipa Police and a team hired by Marcelo’s family.

A G1, the professional’s friend, Peter HauckHe explained something more about the accident: “He tried to take a different route west, which crosses the glacier. He arrived on the 25th and, the same day, he walked, set up a camp, where he remained for another 2 days, and made a few trips”.

Marcelo had been a professional climber for about 25 years and was considered one of the most experienced in the field, having climbed 150 mountains in the Andes and Himalayas.
