Former Globo reporter receives Bolsonaro’s support in mayoral bid

Rosana Valle appeared on the web screen for 25 years before resigning and entering politics

On Sunday (14), Rosana Valle launched her pre-candidacy for mayor of Santos, the largest city on the coast of São Paulo, in an event attended by Jair and Michelle Bolsonaro.

The former president and the former first lady have expressed support for the federal deputy in her second term. First elected by the PSB, she moved from the center-left to the right by joining the PL in 2022.

Rosana Valle worked for 25 years at TV Tribuna, Globo affiliate in Baixada Santista, Litoral Sul and Vale do Ribeira. She wrote articles and live voices on the station’s news programs, such as “Jornal Hoje”. In 2018, she resigned and began her political career.

Just like the former reporter, other professionals in television journalism will also venture into a candidacy in the municipal elections in October.

Presenter Dudu Camargo asked for permission from TV Meio Norte, in Piauí, to seek a seat as a city councilor in the city of São Paulo for the Republican Party.

José Luiz Datena temporarily left ‘Brasil Urgente’, on Band, as he was a PSDB pre-candidate for mayor of the capital of São Paulo.

Electoral law requires presenters and commentators to disqualify themselves, that is, to stop appearing on programs to avoid taking advantage of other pre-candidates. This time the deadline for removal was June 30.
