“I completely tore my ligament. I was skiing, and I was stupid and decided to take a risk on a very difficult slope,” he recently revealed on the American podcast Sidetracked. “I’ve been focusing on my mental health for the last seven months.”

In January of this year, Sam surprised fans when he walked with a cane on the streets of New York. The artist says, however, that he avoided surgery until he could move again. However, he classifies the damage as “permanent.”

“It was the first time I couldn’t walk, I was carrying a weight,” he added. “I used it as an excuse to put things right. [mentalmente].”

After the episode, however, Sam has resumed performing on stage. In March, he was able to perform at this year’s Lollapalooza in Brazil after five years without coming to Brazil. In July and August, the artist is scheduled to perform in North America and Europe.
