Actor Who Asked for Help to Hasten His Death Resurfaces After Months in Prison

Considered one of the most handsome men in cinema, Alain Delon lives a martyrdom after suffering a stroke

On her social media profile, Anouchka Delon posted photos of her father, Alain Delon, a French actor who has enchanted generations of viewers with his striking blue eyes and his power of seduction.

“Always beautiful. Always impeccable. Always elegant. Like a good wine,” wrote the heiress and caregiver of the legendary heartthrob, now 88 and living with complications from physical and mental illnesses.

The artist no longer appears in public. He lives in a property in northern France. Two years ago, in his last interview, he surprised by revealing his desire to have an assisted death in Switzerland, where the procedure using a lethal dose of drugs is permitted.

He wants to follow the example of a friend, the director Jean-Luc Gordard, winner of an Oscar for lifetime achievement, who used the controversial method to anticipate his death at the age of 91 in 2022.

“I made my decision a long time ago. My life has been beautiful, but also difficult,” Delon explained. At war over an inheritance equivalent to R$ 800 million, Delon’s three sons cannot agree on their father’s wishes.

Since April, due to a court decision, the actor has not made any decisions about his life. He was considered incompetent due to cognitive limitations. In one of the photos released a few days ago, you can see a sad but firm look and a suffering expression.

Alain Delon visited Brazil a few times. He flirted with several celebrities and had a love affair with actress Norma Bengel, who decades later would play Dona Deise in the series “Toma Lá Dá Cá”. In Rio, he played Carnival and underwent eye surgery with the famous surgeon Ivo Pitanguy. In Salvador, he said he had dreamed of visiting Bahia since childhood
