Host Otaviano Costa, 51 years old, He underwent surgery after being diagnosed with an aneurysm. This Monday, 22, provided more details on the procedure and revealed that the need arose after the discomfort of a ‘little pain’ in the chest area: “My life is turned upside down.”

The diagnosis came after the host underwent an electrocardiogram, which revealed an ‘ascending thoracic aortic aneurysm’, a condition characterized by the dilation of the artery to a dangerous level, Costa explained in a video posted on his Instagram profile.

He received the results on June 6, the eve of his wife’s birthday, actress Flávia Alessandra: “I was in excellent health, I had no symptoms, but I had some pain that bothered me. Since I couldn’t escape to São Paulo to have a check-up about two years ago, I decided to consult a doctor I didn’t know.”

“I had an ascending thoracic aortic aneurysm at a very dangerous level. At any moment, since I had no detectable symptoms, I could even have a rupture of the aorta and therefore be irreversible,” Ottaviano explained.

The presenter also explained that he was born with an anomaly: “It was caused by a bicuspid valve. The normal thing is to be tricuspid, to have three ‘little valves’, but mine had two. And that’s why it pumped so much. “The blood and my aorta swelled a lot and put my life at risk.”

Otaviano’s surgery took place on July 10, lasted about seven hours, and after the surgery, the presenter spent three days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Sírio-Libanês Hospital in São Paulo, where he is still hospitalized. In the publication, he thanked his family, friends and the team of medical specialists who have accompanied him since the diagnosis.

In the comments, his wife and friends expressed solidarity with the presenter and wished Costa a speedy recovery: “All my thanks to the Lord for my love who is here. I love you, my love,” wrote Flávia Alessandra.
