Maisa Reflects on Surviving a Fire: ‘The Saddest and Happiest Day of My Life’

Eliana interviewed Maisa Silva in a report shown on Fantastic this Sunday, 4. During the conversation, the actress recalled the troubles she experienced when the apartment where she was staying in Recife, Pernambuco, suffered a fire.

“I had a near-death experience. I escaped with my friends from a fire in July 2023. We had come from a party, the apartment was hosting eight people at the time. This friend of mine and another friend stayed there for a few hours, waiting for help, because access was difficult,” he said.

Then Maisa continued: “It was definitely the right day. [que mais tive medo e o] saddest day of my life. And also the happiest day, because I was reborn, with people I love very much. This is the first time I’ve talked about it.”

“I’m actually sorry if I’m a little confused with my words, because what happened to us is very serious. Even though no one was left with a scratch, no damage, no injuries. All the damage was material, but all lives are fine, that’s what matters,” the actress concluded to Eliana.

Maisa also emphasized: “Since then, I started to see life differently. And for a semester, it was as if, every day, I had more willpower to pursue my goals.”

The actress also spoke about her upcoming soap opera work, which will be as a villain: “People really watch soap operas and get so involved that that happens. I hope they don’t get too harsh. If they get too harsh, it means I’m doing my job well.”

Finally, Maisa Silva also expressed a positive assessment of the move to Rio de Janeiro to work at Globo: “Moving to Rio is a new experience for me. Bringing my family, my things, being away from my friends. It’s a great challenge.” , but so far I’ve been welcomed so well that I’m happy.”
