Where is Boninho going? Four options for the powerful playmaker after his exit from Globo

After hundreds of layoffs at all artistic levels at Globo, Boninho’s departure doesn’t exactly come as a surprise.

For the broadcaster, it will be a trial by fire to be without the director responsible for great successes such as ‘Big Brother’, ‘The Voice Brasil’ and ‘Caldeirão’.

The positive side may come from the renewal of the artistic perspective. His successor, Rodrigo Dourado, will be able to make the necessary changes to renew the formats and test original ideas.

Globo urgently needs to reinvent itself. It lacks boldness in its programming. On the eve of its 60th anniversary, the channel lacks the creative agility of its biggest competitor: Internet content.

Create a new channel: Building a channel from scratch and negotiating the vision with pay TV operators is another option. For example, there is room and commercial interest for content with celebrities. His wife, presenter Ana Furtado, who left Globo in 2022, could be the big star.
