Singer Rick, of the country duo Rick & Renner, was involved in a car accident in Santa Catarina. The artist was driving along BR-282, towards the city of Rancho Queimado, on the afternoon of Wednesday the 2nd, when he slipped on the rain-soaked road.
In a statement shared on social media, the two’s team confirmed that, despite the scare, Rick was not injured and is already at home recovering. The singer also published a video in which he explains the accident, underlining that no other person was involved in the collision. Renner caused a fatal accident in 2001
Rick’s accident occurred 23 years after a fatal accident caused by his partner, Renner. In 2001, the singer crashed his BMW 328 into a motorcycle, killing both passengers in the vehicle. The victims of the accident were chemical engineer LuÃs Antônio Nunes Acetto, 35 years old, and his girlfriend, Eveline Soares Rossi, 31 years old. Renner was hospitalized with fractures and broken teeth.
In 2014 Renner was involved in a car accident again. Drunk, the singer collided with another parked vehicle in the Congonhas airport area, in the South Zone of Sao Paulo. At the time, Renner was charged with driving while intoxicated and fleeing the scene of the accident.
