The gospel song sung by Kanye West in 2019 now goes viral for several reasons

Internet users are surprised to find out that the controversial rapper had a spiritualist phase

It’s impossible to spend 5 minutes scrolling through videos on TikTok without hearing a snippet of “God Is.” The song has been used in two trends.

The most popular is a tribute to the memory of people who have died or who have overcome a serious illness, such as cancer.

The other served as the soundtrack for videos of emotion among cinema audiences after the screening of the North American Christian film “The Forge”.

‘God Is’ is part of the Christian hip hop album ‘Jesus is King’, released by Kanye West in October 2019. It reached the top of the ‘Billboard’ magazine chart.

At the time, he was still married to influencer and reality TV star Kim Kardashian. They made one of the hottest couples in the entertainment industry.

The viral song now references Kanye West’s religious period. “You’ll never be the same after calling on the name of Jesus / Hear the words I say, Jesus saved me, now I’m sane / And I know, I know that God is the strength that lifted me up,” he sings in an extract.
