Vera Viel details how she discovered rare leg cancer: ‘I was never afraid’

The model Vera Vielpresenter’s wife Rodrigo Farotalked about how he discovered synovial sarcoma, a type of Cancer rare, on the left thigh. Vera began undergoing tests after feeling a lump in her leg in early October. She and Faro spoke about the diagnosis last Thursday, the 10th.

The model said, in a post on Instagram, that she felt the lump a month ago, when she started taking Muay Thai lessons. “I thought I had hurt myself by attending these courses, but what I didn’t know was that the tumor was already there and a hematoma had formed on it, which made me feel pain,” he said.

Vera underwent an eight-hour surgery last Friday, the 11th, to remove the tumor. She remains hospitalized at the Israelite Albert Einstein Hospital. “I was never afraid. I was very grateful to God for showing me this tumor at the right time, as well as providing me with this wonderful and blessed medical team to perform the surgery,” he said.

In the Instagram post, the model said she was supported by her faith. “I want everyone to know that faith heals. […] When you are faced with a problem, always make sure He is in charge and always takes care of everything,” he wrote.

Diagnosis

On October 4, Vera told her followers that she had found a lump on her leg. “A couple of weeks ago I felt a lump on my left thigh and then we ran to do some tests and came to the hospital. The doctors decided to do a biopsy because there is a lump on my leg, we have already left it in the hands of God,” he said.

At that time, she asked her followers to pray for her. “We are here in prayer, God willing, it will be a benign nodule, I will undergo the surgery and everything will be fine. Now we will wait for the result and then we will see how to proceed”, he explained.

After the diagnosis, the model said, “I want to start by thanking God for showing us this disease in the beginning,” she said.

“God uses people who were like angels and my husband, who insisted I get an MRI. I have synovial sarcoma, a rare and malignant tumor on my left thigh. I am ready to face this battle,” she wrote.
