Singer hit back at Xuxa’s comment, calling it a “disappointment” for the LGBT+ cause

Jojo Todynho responded to a criticism from Xuxa Menegheland called her privileged. “As a fan I have always applauded her. But what a disappointment”, said the singer on her social media on Tuesday 23rd.

“I didn’t know what Ms. Xuxa said about me,” she began on her Instagram Stories. “I wanted him to answer me because I’m not needed.”

“But I also wrote to her on WhatsApp […] If she thinks I’m not necessary, I think it’s necessary for someone to spit in her face,” he added, referring to a person who spat in Rainha dos Baixinhos’ face after a show on the 13th.

Finally, the singer stated that she has gone through difficulties: “Don’t talk about me. You didn’t wear my slippers. You’re privileged. You didn’t go through what I went through.” […] I survived alone, I fought alone. And I won’t let anyone disrespect me, because I don’t disrespect anyone.”

“I have never been on Instagram, Twitter or given an interview talking bad about anyone, so don’t talk about me,” he concluded.

Understanding the fight between Jojo and Xuxa

The exchange of barbs began with Xuxa’s comment on a video posted by Marcio Rolim. The influencer reacted to Jojo’s live, in which he claimed to “be right-wing” and wanted to remove the song Viado destroyed from the air. She said the singer exploited the gay community to succeed, and Xuxa agreed: “Wow…Disappointment has a name. I’m sorry, Marcio.”

Although Jojo stated that he would take the song off the air, the music video Viado destroyeda song written by the singer, is still available and has around 11 million views on YouTube.
