He also said he believed in the former athlete’s innocence: “No one in Brazil knows more than me about this case. Robinho was convicted by audio recordings between friends, immoral, horrible. But this is not a crime. The betrayal that happened to me is not a crime. It is very far from being a crime. There is a very long distance between an immoral act and a crime. He is paying for something that hasn’t happened in eight months.”he said in an interview with Metrópoles.

ADVANTAGES? THE ROUTINE OF THE FORMER PLAYER IN PRISON

The former footballer Robson de SouzaTHE Robinhois serving seven months of prison in Dr. José Augusto César Salgado Penitentiarythe well-known P2 from Tremembé, in the hinterland of São Paulo, where he is serving a 9-year sentence for a case of sexual abuse that occurred in Italy. Despite the circumstances, Robinho he maintained a routine of activities that go beyond physical practices, such as football and the gym.

Since May, the former athlete has started a basic technical course in Electronics, Radio and TV, as well as engaging in reading groups, a strategy that aims to reduce his sentence, as required by Brazilian legislation for educational activities. Dedication to study and reading seeks to open new perspectives to the player while serving his sentence.

At the same time, the former player’s defense tried to reduce the time spent in closed regime. His lawyers have asked that the crime be reclassified as “common” rather than “heinous”, arguing that, in this way, the former footballer should serve only 20% of the sentence in a closed regime, instead of the 40% expected for heinous crimes . However, the Court rejected the request in July and the decision was reaffirmed in September, maintaining strict compliance with the ruling.
