Sports programs on Brasileirão television will undergo some changes in 2025. From changing channels to abandoning them after years at home, presenters and commentators have played a real game of musical chairs in recent months.

The latest update in the framework of sports journalism was Denilson’s departure from the Band. During his almost 15 years at the Morumbi broadcaster, the former player was one of the faces of the program Open the game.

Although he had recently renewed his contract with the Band until 2027, the commentator decided to terminate the contract to dedicate himself to new projects. According to information from columnist Gabriel Vaquer, from Folha de São Paulo, he is in negotiations with Globo to be part of a new sports program on SporTV.

Filippo Andreoli

Last month the presenter left Globo after about 10 years at the Rio station. For the last five seasons he has been the face of Globo Esporte, the channel’s main sports daily.

At first the news took everyone by surprise and raised a question mark over Andreoli’s future. Now, however, he will host the reality show Power couple, da Record, together with his wife, Rafa Brites.

Fred Bruno

This change already occurred a little longer ago, in August. Then a leading name in sports entertainment on social media, Fred Bruno left Desimpedidos, a YouTube channel, to realize his dream of working in the Globo group, where he conducts interviews on SporTV and produces content for the digital environment.

Dodo

The former player known as ‘The top scorer of the most beautiful goals’ has returned home. After spending 2024 as a commentator for Globo, the former striker resigned from broadcaster Rio and will be Record’s main commentator in 2025.

In addition to some state matches, the channel will broadcast the matches of the clubs affiliated to the Liga Forte União during the next editions of the Brazilian Championship.

Fernando Prass

After starting his career as a commentator for TNT Sports, in early 2022, the former goalkeeper worked for ESPN, where he worked until this year. Now the Palmeiras idol has greeted the broadcaster to strengthen the Globo team.

Through social media he said goodbye to his old home and spoke about the new challenge: “Those who know me know that I have always been driven by challenges. It’s been that way my entire career on the field and it couldn’t be any different now. This restless spirit and my desire to continue evolving lead me to look for a new path, a new project that I will soon be able to share with you.”

Cleber Machado

One of the voices of Brazilian football in recent years, Cléber Machado left SBT to join Record. The movement also marks a sort of “return”, as the communicator covered the 2023 Paulistão final on Edir Macedo’s broadcaster.
