With the success of the documentary Forever Paquitafrom Globoplay, Priscilla Couto AND Catia Paganote visited the editorial office of With you! and, in an exclusive interview, they recalled difficult events experienced during that period Xou from Xuxafilmed in the five episodes of the production. In an excerpt from the chat, they opened their hearts and talked about what it was like to revisit these memorable years of their lives, while also highlighting what was most important to them as a learning experience.
Forever Paquitas shows the trajectory of the eternal companions of Xuxa Meneghel. Over the course of the episodes, the production puts the spotlight on characters from different generations, who were part of the imagination of many children and adolescents in Brazil between the 1980s and 2000s.
In addition to a good dose of nostalgia, the series also brings revelations that have surprised audiences. Through emotional testimonies, including that of the eternal Rainha dos Baixinhos, the production recovers the stories of friendship and union, the first experiences, the fears, the relaxed atmosphere behind the scenes, the dreams, the different points of view and, also , disappointments.
“They are little boxes that we didn’t have access to, things that we left there, for a long time, without revisiting, without rummaging, very strong things. And I say it was a mix of feelings. So many joys, so many sadnesses, so many tears and smiles But I think the balance is positive, because learning comes with all this, new learning comes, and this only enriches our lives.”Priscilla emphasizes.
Catia continues: “The little boxes are always there, right? We leave them closed for a while, but they are there. It makes no sense, because there will always be something that touches them there. But then it will hurt a little more or a little less, because we will change it or not; but I think they will always exist. And not only that, many other things Because we don’t have a life just for Paquitas, just because Xou da Xuxa was experiencing other things, suffering in another way, maturing, and life passed. But nevertheless this, we managed to organize everything, to be able to have a good life. And to say that in two years I will be 50 years old, and I am experiencing the same thing that I experienced with 10: going on stage, wearing that little dress and dancing to the same song. .”
Priscilla speaks again: “And I can add: with the same joy, with the same dedication, with the same dedication. I think the title of the documentary is perfect, Forever Paquitas; because this is intrinsic, it is part of our life, it is in our DNA. It is a I’m leaving, and I think it will last for the rest of your life, right Catita?” Catia adds: “Ah, on my tombstone there will be: Catia Paquita Paganote (…). I don’t think she will even be that old. (…). Paquita was chosen at such an age, she left at another age and he was so good (laughs).”
LEARNINGS
When asked what they have brought to life since then, Priscilla begins: “I started very young, at 9 years old, and left when I was 17. There I went through a transition: from child to girl, teenager, and I practically became a woman. A lot of learning. I think today I am a very determined, a person who has a lot of discipline, very focused on what I want, you know? Nobody takes away my concentration. So, I think I carry a lot from that Paquita phase we continued – as Catia said – to do other things the things to be Paquita We are We’ve moved on with our lives, but I think the foundation has become solid. We started very early, so we learned a lot.
Catia continues: “I think that’s what Priscilla said. I was already working before. I started working when I was 5, doing modeling and mannequin work, before joining Xuxa. I was already doing Os Trapalhões, Juba and Lula, different things also in Brasilia So much so that I paraded with Xuxa in 1986, there in Brasilia; but the basis there, from Xou da Xuxa, from our time in Paquita, was that that transformed us as women now, because we were strong, warriors, we supported ourselves and did everything with love and affection, no one knew what we went through, but what we went through was the love we had for that outfit, for being Paquita and to be next to Xuxa, understand?”.
