A hit in the 1980s, Turma do Balão Mágico has reunited again for a streaming special. Simony, Jairzinho, Mike and Tobi posted photos of the reunion on Instagram, and Simony even recorded a behind-the-scenes video of the production.
The meeting took place last Monday in Sao Paulo and will produce a program for the Star + platform.
“I have been authorized to tell you that next year we will have a series that will tell the whole story of the Magic Ball. That photo was our meeting. It will be a beautiful series, you will be super excited,” said Simony in the Stories.
Balão Mágico was a hugely successful children’s program, which aired on TV Globo from 1983 to 1986, and highlighted the quartet’s adventures when they were still children. Two were children of celebrities: Jairzinho, son of singer Jair Rodriguez, and Mike, son of Ronald Biggs, a runaway thief from the UK who recorded punk rock with the Sex Pistols in Rio de Janeiro. Basically a star was born: Simony started her career at the age of 3, when she started singing on Raul Gil’s show. And Tobi co-founded Balão when the project started with Simony and was launched as a couple of children.
In addition to the television success – and even earlier -, Turma released records and signed hits, such as “Superfantástico” and “Amigos do Peito”, still remembered today.
