Shooting of the film “Summer Will End” with Yura Borisov and Makar Khlebnikov began in Yakutia

Only yesterday we talked about the new work of Yura Borisov – he started filming in the third season of the series “Peace! Friendship! Chewing gum!”, as it became known today that the actor (“Captain Volkonogov fled”, “Compartment number 6”, “Accomplices”, “Epidemic 2”) “fit” into the new project. Soon we will see him in the film “Summer will end” is the feature film debut of cinematographer and documentary filmmaker Maxim Arbugaev, his previous documentary, Genesis 2.0, won the Special Jury Prize for Best Cinematography at the 2018 Sundance International Documentary Film Competition.

After a long absence, a young guy Kesha (Yura Borisov) returns to the village. His father (Dmitry Podnozov) and Tim’s younger brother (Makar Khlebnikov) are waiting for him. Keshe – twenty-seven. He has behind him the term that he received by taking the blame of his younger brother upon himself. He returned and wants to just live – find some work, save up money, and then decide what to do next. The youngest Tim is only seventeen. He has a school behind him, he dreams of going to college – on a “budget”. And everything seems to be going according to plan. Tima gets high scores at the introductory, Kesha gets a job in a gold mining artel. But very quickly, Kesha is “thrown” by prospectors and he is left without a job and a future and decides to take revenge. He steals the gold and goes on the run. But not alone, but together with his younger brother.

The script was written by Vladimir Munkuev. His previous film “Nuuccia” received a year ago the EastoftheWest Grand Prix at the 55th International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, as well as the prize for best director at the 32nd Kinotavr Film Festival in Russia.

We liked the story and the script, we didn’t doubt for a second that the film should be launched,” said Alexander Plotnikov, producer. – The idea – a case from life – was brought to Volodya Munkuev, with whom we worked on “Nuucci”, director Maxim Arbugaev. He said that he wanted to make such a movie as a director, and Volodya agreed to write the script. By that time, Maxim was already an accomplished documentary filmmaker, almost all of his work was bought by National Geographic, which collaborated with him both as a director and as a cameraman. When the story was written, it became clear that this is a complex and difficult staged work. The guys decided to shoot together, and Maxim is not only a director, but also a director of photography. And when it all came together, we thought it was the perfect tandem.”

For me, this is a story in a sense – anti “The Godfather” and anti “Brother”, – says Boris Khlebnikov, producer. These are two wonderful films that I love very much. Our film is also about the fact that the fate of your brother is not your fate. Your life must not be consumed by your brother and ruined. I thought it was fair and interesting.”

Dmitry Podnozov, Alexander Mosin, Vasily Shchipitsyn, Ivan Tarabukin, Batma Imanakumova, Denis Kuznetsov, Albert Alekseev, Pavel Kolesov, Roman Atlasov, Sergey Balanov, Vyacheslav Yugov, Isabella Nikolaeva will also appear in the film, which is being produced by the KION online cinema.
