Preta Gil appeared on his social networks this Wednesday (11th) to update his followers on his state of health. To fight bowel cancer, she has traveled to New York, US, where she will spend time with new professionals and may have to start a new treatment.

In a video posted on her Instagram, the singer said she will undergo a new operation on the 15th and is thinking of spending the post-operative period abroad. She also believes that everything she is doing was recommended to her by the professionals who currently accompany her to Brazil.

“Hi love, I know many of you are wondering what I came to New York to do. So, I came to do several things here, including having a consultation with an oncologist who specializes in the type of cancer I have. [Foi] I have asked my doctors in Brazil for a second opinion regarding the treatment I will undergo after the surgery I will have next week. This surgery has been planned for some time, to remove the tumors,” Preta began.

The daughter of Gilberto Gil he also considered that he might react better to treatment from abroad: “We know there is a real possibility I will undergo chemotherapy next [da cirurgia] here and the therapy I did here in Brazil was not as effective as the doctors expected.”

“We have to look for alternatives in different countries, with different types of studies, different studies not yet published – or published -, drugs that have not yet arrived in Brazil… So I will have an appointment tomorrow. I hope to have good news and that can give me hope of being able to be treated here after surgery”, concluded Preta Gil.
