On Wednesday (1) a tragic accident occurred in Buenos Aires involving two Brazilian citizens. A 60-year-old man lost his life at the scene of the accident, while a woman was promptly rescued by emergency services and taken to hospital due to multiple injuries.

Details of the accident

The accident occurred at the intersection of Avenida Libertador and Rua Alvear, when the driver of the vehicle apparently lost control, climbed onto the pavement and hit the couple who were waiting for the traffic lights to change to cross.

The woman, who survived the collision, is hospitalized in Rivadavia hospital, where she underwent a CT scan due to head trauma. Local authorities are conducting an investigation to clarify the circumstances of what happened.

According to Argentine media information, the driver involved in the accident is an actress known for her appearances in commercials and is also a bar owner in the Argentine capital. The investigation falls under the jurisdiction of Criminal Court 9, which analyzes the facts on charges of murder and personal injury.

To date, the Brazilian consulate in Buenos Aires has reported that it has received no official notifications from the Argentine authorities about the death of the Brazilian tourist and that there has been no contact from the victims’ families either.
