“Hello, my loves! I’m here, in the hospital, recovering from surgery. It was a very, very extensive, very major surgery, and I have a very difficult post-op period. I live here one day at a time, fighting, trying my best to stay healthy,” he said.
In the video, Preta also explained that she will have to face a long rehabilitation process and expressed her desire to be discharged and return to her home.
“I can’t wait to get out of here as soon as possible, but there’s a journey ahead of recovery, a lot of rehabilitation and everything will be fine, I’m steady and strong. I’ll be home soon, God willing,” he declared.
Previously, Preta released a publication to reassure his fans and thank his fans and fans for his care. “Loves, I’m here to keep you calm! I continue my battle here. One day at a time, with faith and every day makes me stronger! Thank you for all the prayers and positive energies, I feel them every day. Peace and love in the hearts of everyone, I love you! I’m back now!”, he wrote.
The surgery to remove the tumors began on December 19 and did not end until the next day. The surgery, which lasted 21 hours, is part of the artist’s treatment for bowel cancer.
On December 31, Preta announced that she had been discharged from the intensive care unit (ICU), taken to another room in the same unit, where she remains hospitalized.
After leaving the intensive care unit, Preta had the opportunity to spend the new year surrounded by family and friends, including her father Gilberto Gil, her stepmother Flora Gil, her sister Bela Gil and her niece Sol de Maria .
