Murilo Couto celebrates opportunity at Globo after leaving SBT: “Sell Jequiti on Projac”

In April 2024, Murilo Couto surprised his followers by confirming his exit from SBT and, consequently, the end of his association with the show La Noite with Danilo Gentile. Dedicated to his solo projects, the comedian debuted in a special appearance on Domingão com Huck, on Globo, in January this year. In an interview with With you!the comedian celebrated the occasion and confessed that he already wanted to make a joke behind the scenes of the network.

It is worth mentioning that his participation in Domingão with Huck marked his return to Globo after 14 years. “It was crazy, right? Driving those golf carts… After 10 years at SBT, my impulse was to sell Jequiti on Projac. I sold two by Celso Portiolli to Dona Déia“he joked.

“I was very happy with the invitation to the program, Luciano Huck welcomed me very well and made me feel very at ease. I really appreciate it. I was nervous about doing a joke on Globo on Sunday afternoon, but I went to talk to the audience first and saw that a large part of the audience already knew my work, which reassured me. Many people stopped me on the street saying they laughed at my participation there, I was very happy with the feedback“he added.

Regarding his departure from SBT, the comedian confessed that it was his choice: “It was my decision not to continue. For the sake of time. I had already missed many recordings for personal reasons and thought it was time to leave. It was very sad because I love SBT and I love The Noite“.

In 2009, Murilo Couto starred in Malhação as Alberto Duarte, but soon after began dedicating his artistic career to comedy. Despite his success and fans’ requests to resume audiovisual productions, the comedian confessed that for now this is not a desire. “My thing is doing comedy, I’m ashamed of acting. I don’t deny that I make soap operas, but that’s not the goal“, he said.
