Preta Gil received a special visit on Tuesday evening, the 21st, at the Sírio Libanês Hospital, in Sao Paulo. Her son, Francisco Gil, brought the singer’s 9-year-old granddaughter, Sol de Maria, to visit her. The artist has been hospitalized for 32 days.

“My little companion,” the singer wrote in a photo shared on his Instagram account.

Francisco celebrated his birthday last Monday, 20th, when he turned 30 years old. Despite being hospitalized, Preta posted a tribute to her son. He used an excerpt from an interview with her on Roda Vivafrom TV Cultura, in March 2024.

“He’s a very talented guy, an incredible father and a very loving son. And I’m very proud of the artist, of the man that he is. And he knows that we’re in this together, that we continue to grow together, that we continue to evolve together. learn in joy and sadness, together,” he said then.

In the publication she also writes: “Today my greatest life partner turns 30. It seems like yesterday that he was born, at 10:45 in the morning, in Rio de Janeiro. I am very grateful to have come into the world like his mother and learn so much from you, my son!”

Hospital admission

The surgery to remove the singer’s tumors began on December 19 and ended only the following day. The surgery, which lasted 21 hours, is part of the artist’s treatment for bowel cancer.

On December 31, Preta announced that she had been discharged from the intensive care unit (ICU), taken to another room in the same unit, where she remains hospitalized.

After leaving the intensive care unit, Preta had the opportunity to spend the new year surrounded by family and friends, including her father Gilberto Gil, her stepmother Flora Gil, her sister Bela Gil and her niece Sol de Maria .
