Fernanda Torres She was just nominated for an Oscar for best actress, but someone already got her nomination right 27 years ago. In 1989, during a participation in the program Roda Viva, on TV Cultura, the actress said that her uncle Paulo had made her understand that he would like to see her one day at the awards ceremony. At the time the artist even laughed and said it would never happen.
“When I won the first time in Cannes, there in Tijuca, my uncle Paulo turned to me… I think he didn’t even know where Cannes was. He said to me, ‘I want to see you at the Oscars one day.’ And I looked at him and said, ‘Wow, Uncle Paulo has no idea how tough he is and how lucky he is to get here. The Oscars will never happen“, he said.
Internet users reacted to the program on social media. “Did you see Fernanda Torres in the program Roda Viva in 98?? TOTALLY WRONG“, joked one of the Twitter/X users. “Completely!!! AMEN!“, celebrated another.”And it happened!“another pointed out.”He didn’t know!“, another commented.”Uncle Paulo visionary“, concluded another.
