After surgery, Preta Gil adopts the permanent colostomy bag

Black Gil He shared an inspiring testimony about his recovery after a delicate surgery to remove tumors. The procedure, which lasted 21 hours, was performed at the Syrian-Lebanese hospital in Sao Paulo, where the singer is still hospitalized. Preta said he is in the process of adjusting to the permanent colostomy bag, which he will need after surgery.

“This time, I will be with this bag forever, and I am very grateful for it. I am relearning to do many things, but everything is improving, exams are fantastic and I am Feeding, walking, exercising.he explained. Diagnosed with colorectal cancer in January 2023, Preta faced a long battle, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy and previous surgeries.

At the end of 2023, the singer was considered to be in remission, but in August 2024 she revealed that the disease had returned in different places, including lymph nodes, ureter and peritoneum. During treatment, Preta faced serious complications, such as sepsis, which required additional attention from their medical team.

In December 2024, before his final surgery, the singer traveled to New York seeking a second medical opinion, returning to Brazil to perform the procedure at the Syrian-Lebanese hospital. In the video, Gilberto Gil’s daughter also thanked the medical team, their faith and the affection of the fans.
