
Actress Sarah Paulson (“American Horror Story”) will star in the horror “Dust,” produced by Searchlight Pictures for streaming distribution – on Hulu in the US and Star + in other countries.
Set in the 1930s, the film follows a woman trapped by increasingly dangerous sandstorms, who is haunted by her past encounters with a menacing presence and takes extraordinary measures to protect her family.
The start of filming, scheduled for August, will be Will Joines and Karrie Crouse’s first feature, award-winning short films, and the screenplay was written by Crouse.
“Sarah is an amazing artist and we are thrilled to be working with her again,” said Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield, noting that they previously worked with the actress on “12 Years a Slave” (2013). Steve McQueen, who won the Academy Award for Best Picture and “Martha Marcy May Marlene” (2011), by Sean Durkin.
