Alexandre Pato will finance the return of Julian Marins’ body to Brazil

He currently works as a sports commentator at the SBT, Alexandre Pato took a solidarity initiative in front of the tragedy involving Juliana Marins, a Brazilian for 26 years who died during a path on Mount Rinjani, in Indonesia. The former player offered to fully finance the transfer of the young man to Brazil.

Juliana fell into a bluff at dawn on Friday (June 21), in a risky stretch of the guided path to the top of the volcano. After four days, his body was on Tuesday (June 25) by rescue teams that faced rough land, high altitude between 2,600 and 3000 meters and adverse weather conditions.

The Brazilian law does not provide for government aid for the transfer and burial of citizens killed abroad. In this way, Juliana’s family should bear high costs alone. The financial difficulty mobilized users on social networks, which attracted Pato’s attention, which contacted relatives through an Instagram profile.

The SBT staff confirmed that the former player spoke to his family. In a statement, he said that “he prefers not to make interviews because he considers the gesture something personal”. According to reports, Pato promptly made himself available after being aware of the situation by publications on the Internet.

This is not the first time that Duck shows sensitivity in delicate situations. In 2018, Nara Almeida contributed to the treatment of influencer, financing six months of medicine for cancer, even if he knew that the chances of healing were small.

The tragedy involving Juliana has moved the Internet. He was a fan of travel and shared experiences on natural paths and landscapes. A month before the accident, he published a reflection on life, saying: “Take a deep breath and live the moment”.
