Vladimir Zhirinovsky is one of the most famous, brilliant and extraordinary politicians of our country. Everyone knows his name without exception. The permanent leader of the LDPR party, a man who has not given up on becoming president of Russia, has repeatedly stood for election. He ran 6 times and certainly wouldn’t leave the situation alone if not for the terrible. On April 6, 2022, Vladimir Zhirinovsky died. This was announced by the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

Our condolences to the politician’s family. In memory of the eccentric politician who left a bright mark on history, we tell about his biography – childhood and youth, the career of Vladimir Zhirinovsky, personal life and, of course, scandals.

Childhood and youth of Vladimir Zhirinovsky

Vladimir Zhirinovsky was born on April 25, 1946 in Alma-Ata. Only Vladimir’s father, Wolf Eidelstein, and his brother Aaron survived after the entire family was executed in 1939. The brothers were deported to Kazakhstan. Years later, it was there that Wolf met his future wife Alexandra Zhirinovskaya, who gave birth to a son, Vladimir.

Alas, in fact, Wolf Eidelstein never saw his son: he was soon deported to Poland, and Volodya was brought up by his mother. In addition to him, Alexandra Zhirinovskaya had five more children from her first marriage. At some point, Vladimir took his mother’s surname and became Zhirinovsky.

After graduating from school No. 25 in the city of Alma-Ata, Vladimir decided that higher education should be received in the capital. In Moscow, he became a student of the Faculty of History and Philology of the Institute of Oriental Languages of Moscow State University. At the same time, Zhirinovsky entered the University of Marxism-Leninism, where he graduated from the Faculty of International Relations.

In 1988 he obtained his doctorate. He is fluent in four languages: French, English, Turkish and German.

Policy

Even in his youth, Vladimir Volfovich was interested in politics. As a student, he worked in the Soviet Peace Committee, then became the head of the legal department of the Mir publishing house, where his fiery political speeches were already heard then.

The years of perestroika became the beginning of Zhirinovsky’s political career. In 1989, 43-year-old Vladimir Volfovich, together with his associates, created the Liberal Democratic Party, in short – the Liberal Democratic Party. Immediately afterwards, in 1991, the politician ran for the first time in the presidential election and took third place, losing only to Boris Yeltsin and Nikolai Ryzhkov.

In 1993, Vladimir Volfovich was elected to the State Duma and never left this chair.

In 2000, Zhirinovsky again ran for president and again failed. Even then, his peculiar style began to be clearly traced, the image of an extraordinary and even outrageous politician, therefore, with each upcoming presidential election, Vladimir Volfovich receives fewer and fewer votes, although the people love him still.

Scandals of Vladimir Zhirinovsky

Vladimir Zhirinovsky never limited himself either in expressions or in actions. He poured a glass of juice on Boris Nemtsov, fought with Deputy Yevgenia Tishkovskaya, threw a glass of water on Boris Nadezhdin, wrote devastating obscene letters to George Bush, cursed with Alla Pugacheva, called the names of Ksenia Anatolyevna.

Even for pregnant women. In 2014, Vladimir Volfovich assaulted journalist Stella Dubovitskaya, who then had to be rushed to hospital. True, this time Zhirinovsky apologized, since he had no idea about the girl’s pregnancy. Due to insults and public humiliation, the eccentric politician more than once found himself in court.

Personal life of Vladimir Zhirinovsky

Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Galina Lebedeva met at a children’s camp. A friendship began, and a few years later they got married, and since then they have been inseparable, although everything has happened. Vladimir and Galina married in 1971 and divorced seven years later. In 1985, the couple started living together again, but they no longer signed.
In 1993, on the eve of the 25th wedding anniversary, they got married in a church.

The couple have an only son, Igor Lebedev, born in 1972. Like his father, he is building a political career.

In 1998, Vladimir Zhirinovsky became a grandfather: Igor and his wife Lyudmila had twin sons – Sergey and Alexander. In 2018, the couple became parents to many children: their third son was born.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky today

Vladimir Volfovich is called the main showman of Russian politics. And indeed: like him, no one knows how to put on a show. Zhirinovsky has been a folk meme for many years: his words are immediately parsed into quotation marks (“Scoundrels!”, “Silence!”), And his facial expressions and gestures gave us more of a funny picture “in case of negotiations important”.

Even at 75, Vladimir Volfovich does not even think about retiring. He continues to build a political career, making proposals – each crazier, more ruthless or funnier than the next.

Despite all the “buts”, Zhirinovsky is loved in Russia. At least for the fact that he gives people a good mood. Some of the flow of his speeches isolate proposals that are really important and necessary for the country. Maybe that’s why he’s still in politics.

We haven’t seen Zhirinovsky for some time. Since the beginning of 2022, Vladimir Volfovich has been in the hospital, where he suffers from omicron. Information from the hospital comes in various ways: on March 25, the news even spread that Vladimir Zhirinovsky had died. Fortunately, the information turned out to be wrong: the doctors continue to fight for the life of the politician, although the condition of Vladimir Volfovich cannot be called stable.
