Influencer Tainá Militão has spoken out after burglars raided the Madrid mansion she shares with her footballer husband Éder Militão, stealing luxury valuables.
The break-in happened on October 25 at the couple's home in the La Moraleja neighbourhood while the Real Madrid defender was playing against Barcelona. Two thieves broke into the residence during the match and stole jewelry and watches valued at 350,000 euros, worth approximately 2.1 million Brazilian reais, from rooms on the upper floor.
Members of Militão's family were inside the house on the ground floor during the robbery but did not hear or notice the intruders upstairs. The two criminals were captured on private security cameras operating at the property.
Shortly after the intruders fled, police officers and condominium security guards arrived at the property and requested permission to search the interior. Officers went up to the second floor and found the 28-year-old footballer's bedroom completely ransacked.
Social media response and emotional impact
Tainá Militão, 29, spoke about the raid on Monday in a video posted to her social media accounts, admitting that the experience had left her deeply shaken. She explained that she had been preparing to go to a workout session and had hesitated before speaking publicly, but felt compelled to address the situation after receiving numerous messages from concerned followers.
She told supporters that everyone in the household was safe and unharmed following the incident. While she acknowledged that material items could be recovered, she emphasized that the emotional impact was much harder to handle, adding that people often consider themselves strong yet face situations in life for which they are entirely unprepared.
The influencer did not provide operational details about the break-in, stating that the crime is currently under investigation by police. She expressed gratitude to her followers for their affection and support, thanking those who had reached out with kind messages even before learning what had happened.
Burglary during El Clásico match
Details of the crime were first published on Saturday, October 31, by Spanish newspaper El Mundo. According to the report, the thieves targeted the property while Militão was competing in El Clásico, the high-profile football clash between Spanish rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Éder Militão is a Brazilian international centre-back who joined Real Madrid in 2019 and plays regularly for the Spanish club. The couple live in La Moraleja, an affluent residential district situated north of Madrid that is known as a popular home for wealthy sports stars and international celebrities.
Police officers continue to review security camera footage and physical evidence from the ransacked bedroom as the investigation into the two suspects remains underway.
