Since the beginning of his participation in Éta Mundo Better!, Estela has been deeply engaged in Anabela’s care, even in front of recurrent challenges. The young nurse, interpreted by Larissa Manoe, now faces a new phase of emotional tension, motivated by the worsening of the health of the younger sister, who suffers from fainted episodes and risk of deafness.
Concerned about the seriousness of the situation, Estela resorts to trust in the search for comfort. In one of his trips to the church, he is surprised by Celso, who lived by Rainer Cadete, who finds the girl in a moment of great fragility. The meeting between the two acts as a trigger for a series of revelations on the past of the nurse, so far unknown to his partner.
During the conversation, Estela reveals that his mother suddenly abandoned her family: “Leaving a travel employee. He never gave news again”. The father, he said, could not resist the suffering caused by his wife’s departure and died in the end. The young woman and Anabela therefore lived under the care of her paternal grandmother, who also died. “Anabela and I went to live with my grandmother. My father’s mother. I don’t even know what would have been for us without the love and affection of the grandmother. Unfortunately, if she left.”
Enthusiastic about the story, Celso tries to comfort Estela, recognizing her role in the girl’s life. “Since then, you take care of Anabela as a real daughter, play the role of mother.” However, the boy’s observation is not well accepted. With an harsh tone, Estero bounces immediately: “I’m not Anabela’s mother!” The reaction of the nurse surprises Celso, who apologizes for the comment.
In another part of the conversation, Estela expresses the feeling of helplessness in the face of the loss of his sister until deafness. “I feel like if he had failed with her, as if I hadn’t done enough, do you understand?” Even in the face of insecurity, he finds support in the words of his partner and tries to recognize herself.
The relationship between Estela and Anabela, although not of biological motherhood, is marked with deep bonds. Despite the enormous negative of the mother’s role, their attitudes show a full dedication, which goes beyond any formal kinship definition.
In the meantime, the next chapters of the soap opera should bring developments on the health of Anabela, who may need surgery. At the same time, Estela will continue divided between the hospital work and the growing family tension.
