As officially confirmed by Kensington Palace, the Wales Princes will leave the current house and will leave Forest Lodge – also known as Holly Grove – located inside Windsor Great Park. The decision has been taken into consideration since the beginning of the year and has been led above all the recently faced challenges.
According to sources close to the couple, change aims to provide a new beginning. Kate Middleton ended the treatment of cancer in early 2025, after ten months of chemotherapy. In this context, the current residence was associated with difficult memories. A close source said: “The change offers them the opportunity for a new beginning and a new chapter. It is an opportunity to make some of the most unhappy memories behind them”.
The new property, worth about $ 21 million, has eight rooms – double the current residence – and will be subjected to renovation works before being employed. The works will be financed with private resources and the couple also intends to pay the rental, according to market prices. However, as determined, King Charles III will financially contribute only to the external improvements of the property.
In addition, the couple continues to maintain the policy not to allow employees to reside in the same house in order to preserve the family privacy.
